We all have heard that love conquers all… Well, according to a new study that includes actual pain. New research from Stanford University suggests that deep feelings of love could relieve intense physical pain. Researchers placed a new couple inside an MRI and measured their brain activity when looking at pictures of their true love. It’s believed that the areas of the brain that are triggered by love are the same areas impacted by painkilling drugs such as cocaine. This research is promising, it may help scientists find new ways to relieve chronic pain. So, maybe there is something to all those tortured love songs after all!
