Is coffee bad for our teenagers?

It seems that more and more teens are drinking coffee these days.  Is coffee bad for our teenagers??  If your child is healthy with no heart or blood pressure problems or neurological problems, drinking coffee probably isn’t going to hurt them; however, it is not desirable.  The main concern with coffee is caffeine, which is a stimulant.  Many teenagers drink coffee and get caffeine from lots of different sources like energy drinks and soda.  So, educate your kids about the warning signs of too much caffeine like palpitations, shakiness, nervousness, irritability and nausea.  Once they have this information, they’ll be more likely to limit or decrease their intake.
