About AAPT

The American Academy of Personal Training (AAPT) is a state licensed, private vocational school offering a comprehensive education and certification program covering all subjects critical to becoming a highly knowledgeable and successful personal trainer. AAPT offers a 260 Hour course (3 or 6 months) that involves 130 hours of academic study in a classroom setting integrated with 130 hours of practical hands- on training in our on-site training facility.

AAPT graduates develop the knowledge base and skills that are essential to prescribe exercise and direct fitness programs for active and sedentary individuals, including senior citizens and those with multiple medical conditions including but not limited to obesity, diabetes, heart disease and hypertension.

AAPT trainers have a deep understanding of biomechanics, training adaptations, nutrition, anatomy, exercise physiology, and exercise prescription, that far exceed the current standards in the industry. Along with classroom lectures and practical instruction our students have the opportunity to attend special workshops lead by guest experts in the field.

Upon graduation from AAPT, students go on to work as personal trainers in various aspects of the health and fitness industry such as health clubs, personal training studios, corporate wellness centers, physical therapy and rehab practices, hospitals, the outdoors and clients’ homes.

American Academy of Personal Training graduates represent a new breed of fitness trainer that are making a profound impact on the health and fitness community.  Join us to become a personal trainer.
